From it’s very beginning BEN*JAM was never thought of merely as a catchy tag as songwriting handle, nor a band. It was thought of as a signet, a stamp of approval, kind of like when you hear the words “Hi, I’m Bill Gaither”, and so forth. BEN*JAM was thought as a movement with a variety of fundamental principles which set it’s apart from what founder Rev. Benjamin Blankenship and masses of others consider to be the flawed views of the Industrial Mainstream.
Therefore, (the band) BEN*JAM‘s albums had more fast/up-tempo songs than most other artists, more tear-jerkers, more tracks period, more (i.e.) original songs per album, and so forth. When the Industry at large said to only put 1 or 2 good songs on an album, BEN*JAM felt that people deserved better & gave it. When the Establishment said hold back, BEN*JAM chose to push forward. With a few years passed God is continuing to prosper and bless us. It’s also become quite apparent to onlookers that things have only begun to be underway. With BEN*ADDICTION‘s first major event (i.e. FARMAGGEDON) approaching in the next few months, a radio release out (i.e. “God Said It, I Believe It”) with Millennium Music Group, another radio release going out (i.e. “I’m Famous In Heaven”) late this month with “In His’ Grip Promotions“, an ad in this month’s issue of SGN SCOOPS, and far too many other things to discuss in great detail at this time, all of us under the BEN*JAM umbrella are excited to see what God does next.
This month we’d like to give a special thanks to Rob Patz & Rhonda Frye of SGN SCOOPS. SGN Scoops is one of the proud sponsors of BEN*ADDICTION‘s SEPT 28th event: “FARMAGGEDON: SOUTHERN GOSPEL MUSIC FESTIVAL & CANNED FOOD DRIVE“. The event will be held in at Judy’s Barn, Maynardville, TN from 10AM-8PM and feature some of the best live music our genre has to offer. Admission is FREE. Bring a canned food good, or 2, or 3 – they’ll all go to feed the hungry via our friends at “Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee.” Also, we strongly encourage everyone to visit www.SGNScoops.com, the #1 Online Southern Gospel Magazine. It’s always digital, so it’s always free. Find out who’s who, who did what, and all of that good stuff at www.SGNScoops.com.
We’d also like to thank all of the other FARMAGGEDON sponsors: Christian Voice Magazine, Reno’s Sporting Goods, Woods Music, & WKXV AM. For additional information on FARMAGGEDON, or any other scheduled BEN*ADDICTION events please visit their home page at: “www.BENJAMS.com/BENADDICTION“.
